PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The Editorial Manager oversees content development as a member of IntraHealth’s Communications and Knowledge Management Department. The Manager manages and executes an editorial strategy for IntraHealth’s website (intrahealth.org) that advances organizational goals, ensuring that IntraHealth has a strategic and effective online presence and voice. The Manager works in a highly collaborative environment to ensure that digital content reaches and engages key audiences by identifying, soliciting, writing, editing, and promoting feature stories, blogs, news, and other content. The Editorial Manager supervises a Writer/Editor and reports to the Senior Manager, Communications and Knowledge Management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Develops, manages, and executes editorial strategy to increase reach and readership for IntraHealth website and other online content • Provides editorial oversight of IntraHealth website, focusing on features, news, and blogs, and IntraHealth contributions to other outlets (through comments, Letters to the Editor, Op-ed pieces) • Actively contributes to department’s strategy, systems and problem solving by being an active member of the department’s leadership team • Engages with directors, managers, country office staff, and other staff to identify leads and content needs for key audiences, and to draft and promote content • Manages editorial publishing calendar and publication process for IntraHealth website • Manages IntraHealth blog, soliciting blogs and comments from staff and guest bloggers, and promoting blogs to external outlets • Writes and edits web content including feature stories, blogs, and news • Supervises writer/editor • Supports content development and editing of technical publications, including peer-review journal articles • Represents IntraHealth at key conferences and other external events • Writes and edits other content as needed (which may include press releases, static website content, etc.) • Contributes to other departmental activities as needed.
